METHOD FOR IDENTIFICATION OF A PERSON BY HIS FACE IMAGE Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC G06K9/80 

FIELD: image recognition.

SUBSTANCE: result is achieved, because operations are included in the method, wherein images of faces are produced, an area of face is selected on these, individual signs of the area are extracted, a unique set of signs is formed from them, face image is indexed by this unique sign vector, which forms an index being one point in multidimensional space of signs, called index space, for the index space, a tree of hyper-planes is built by means of specific division of index space by hyper-planes, indexed face images are archived together with index space, operations involving creation of query index are repeated for new image, primary search is performed in index space of adjacent points, a set of appropriate archived images is formed, secondary search in this set is performed by means of comparison of additional sign vectors and decision is taken about identification of a certain person by means of selection of archived image with a vector of additional signs, which is closest to vector of additional signs of image of face of the person being identified.

EFFECT: less time needed for identification due to decreased amount of necessary calculations.
