DETACHABLE BUTT JOINT OF SUBMERSIBLE VEHICLE PRESSURE HULL ENVELOPES Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC B63B3/13

Abstract RU 2305046 C1

FIELD: marine engineering; designing joints of submersible vehicle hull envelopes.

SUBSTANCE: proposed joint is provided with external seal. Envelopes to be connected are not provided with external seals and have no external projecting parts. For connection, use is made of elastic seal provided with spring-loaded clip which excludes separation of parts being connected tightly pressing the seal to their external surfaces during entire period of diving and surfacing.

EFFECT: simplified technology of manufacture of pressure hull envelopes; reduced usage of expensive materials; reduced mass of submersible vehicle pressure hull.
