FIELD: seamless hose-type casing for packaging of food products such as sausages, cooked sausage, cooked ham, brined products or melted cheese.
SUBSTANCE: at least layer placed within casing contains mixture of thermoplastic starch and/or thermoplastic starch derivative and at least one additional polymer. Casing has on its innermost side at least one transferred coloring, aromatizing and/or flavoring substance such as smoke flavoring liquid, crushed pepper or like substance. Method involves preliminarily mixing solid coloring, aromatizing or flavoring substances with, preferably, binder; producing casing by applying coat onto outer side of casing followed by turning inside out. Resultant casing for food products has improved barrier properties, which are extremely high with regard to oxygen and water steam.
EFFECT: improved barrier properties of casing and provision for uniform transferring of coloring, aromatizing or flavoring substances into food product placed therein.
