SUBSTANCE: invention is designed to divert fish from headworks. Proposed method comes to transporting of fish in fish diverting flow from zone of direct action of headworks to safe zone stocked pond. To prevent return of fish to headworks, on section of fish diverting flow where velocity of flow dies down to values lower than drifting ones for fish, conditions are created to restore orientation of sliding fish to preclude their repeated sliding to headworks and to provided self-swimming of fish to safe places of stocked pond.

EFFECT: reduced cost of diversion of fish from zone of action of headworks, reduced length of fish diverting conduit.
