FIELD: equipment of manufacturing processes, namely used for manual electric arc welding by means of coated electrodes, particularly small size inverter type power sources.
SUBSTANCE: inverter type power source includes two mutually parallel circuits; each parallel circuit includes half of primary winding of outlet step down transformer and two connected in series thyristors. Supply voltage is fed to diagonal between mean point of primary winding of outlet step down transformer and common connection point of two free cathodes of thyristors of parallel circuits. Between points of mutual connection of cathodes and anodes of thyristors switching capacitor is connected. Limiting circuits including connected in series choke and thyristor are connected in parallel to thyristors whose cathodes are connected one to other. Inverter type power source provides enlarged possibility of regulation of welding current value, namely such power source provides pulse-width control, combination type pulse control, pulse-frequency control.
EFFECT: enlarged possibilities for controlling welding current value.
