FIELD: cutting unit to chopping machine designed for mounting in cutter framework.

SUBSTANCE: cutting unit includes counter -cutter mounted in cuter framework and supporting symmetrical double-sided cutter having in its mutually opposite sides two tapered cutting edges. One of said tapered cutting edges protrudes from cutter framework more than counter-cutter. In order to force double-sided cutter at side opposite relative to counter-cutter, cutting unit includes clamp, fastening means for mounting said clamp and for forcing it to cutter framework. Cutting unit includes at least one fixing member passing in parallel to lengthwise axis of double-sided cutter to both sides of boundary surface between double-sided cutter and counter-cutter in order to prevent cross motion of double-sided cutter relative to counter-cutter. Said fixing member is in the form of stationary part of double-sided cutter or counter-cutter. In such cutting unit double-sided cutter, counter-cutter and fixing member are arranged in such a way that position of double-sided cutter relative to cutter framework may be set as necessary in cross direction of double-sided cutter. Counter-cutter includes two stop surfaces used for resting upon cutter framework and forming acute angle a in range 25 - 75°, preferably 35 - 70° in order to mount counter-cutter to cutter framework at geometry closing. For each pointed double-sided cutter there is row of counter-cutters for controlling position of pointed tapered edge relative to cutter framework in such a way that to make its position similar to that before pointing edge.

EFFECT: lowered expenses for material as double-sided cutters may be pointed many times, shortened time period of mounting, simple controlling of characteristics of cutting unit, possibility of using different type of cutters.
