FIELD: medicine, traumatology, orthopedics.
SUBSTANCE: radial end of additional transverse bone should be resected so that the remained length of the bone should correspond to anatomical distance value between metacarpal bones. Simultaneously, one should remove the caput of additional transverse bone from the second metacarpo-phalangeal symphysis. Transversely under the caput one should osteotomize the second metacarpal bone to rotate the caput of the second metacarpal bone together with the second finger up to the functional position of the second finger. One should shift the second and the third metacarpal bones in frontal plane towards each other to achieve anatomical width of the wrist and connection of rotated caput of the second metacarpal bone with resected end of the additional transverse bone. The achieved position of bones should be fixed with needles till healing. The innovation provides reconstruction of anatomical interrelations between 2-3-4 metacarpal bones, removes rotation shift of the second finger, returns the function of the absent transverse ligament between the capita of 2-3 metacarpal bones, increases the volume of movements in the 2nd metacarpo-phalangeal symphysis, narrows the width of the wrist up to anatomical standard.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of reconstruction.
