FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of part billets from iron-based powders with high mechanical and operating properties. Iron powder is subjected to high-frequency reduced-pressure plasma on feeding it into plasma jet at 1.33-133 Pa. Plasma-forming gas consists of 50% of argon and 50% of air fed at voltage of 7.8-8.0 kW, current of 1.3-1.5 A, with powder flow rate making 0.08-0.1 g/s. Processed powder is used to produce charge and zinc stearate is added thereto in amount of 1 wt %.Billet is compacted at P=400 kN, charged into shaft furnace and sintered in atmosphere of dissociated ammonia. After sintering, billet is first cooled in furnace and then in air.
EFFECT: higher mechanical and antirust properties.
