FIELD: MILITARY EQUIPMENT.
SUBSTANCE: the artillery gun breech-carrier mechanism has a grip hinge-fastened on the cradle and engageable with the breech opening mechanism, and a stop fixed on the breech end. The grip through shackle is hinge-joined to the spring-loaded lever located on the cradle, and having a supporting platform engageable with the mating platform on the cradle. The shackle is engageable with the stop fixed on the breech end. The overall length of the shackle and spring-loaded lever exceeds the distance between the axles of fastening of these components on the cradle, so that in the operating position of the mechanism the common axle of the shackle and spring-loaded lever is shifted relative to the line connecting the supports of these components to the side providing the mechanism locking.
EFFECT: due to the appropriate design of the grip, provision is made for reduction of the counterrecoil path required for disengagement of the spring-loaded lever and the rod, and for reduction of the loading of conjugation of the components at the instant of disengagement.
