FIELD: polymer materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions based on thermoplastic polyester resin exhibiting acceptable coloration and muddiness. Composition and its variations based on thermoplastic polyester resin are described, which comprise film-forming polyester and efficient amount of oxygen-absorbing particles containing oxygen-absorbing element such as iron, cobalt, and nickel capable of reacting with oxygen, wherein particles are size-distributed in such a way that particles less than about 25 μm in size are present but their concentration does not exceed that determined by formula: ppm = 512.3*d wherein ppm means approximate concentration (in ppm) of particles having size less than about 25 μm and d is apparent density of particles less than about 25 μm in size from more than 0.97 to about 2.44 g/cc. There are further also described: article formed from composition based on thermoplastic polyester resin containing efficient amount of oxygen-absorbing particles, said article having muddiness Hunter muddiness factor about 10% or less; method of incorporating high levels of oxygen-absorbing particles into film-forming composition based of low-muddiness thermoplastic polyester resin; and container made from thermoplastic polyester resin-based composition.
