FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antifriction bearings operating in units of machines and mechanisms. Proposed taper roller bearing contains at least one outer and one inner races and taper rollers placed in between in one, two or four rows. Axial dimensions of parts of antifriction bearings are found by formulas, depending on what type of bearing is to be used (one-, two- or four row). Values of angle of contact, diameter and length of taper roller are taken to provide approximate equality of minimum thick nesses of walls of outer and inner races. Working taper surface of taper roller is provided with crown whose radius is either calculated or set at designing. Thrust end face of bead of inner race or middle bead of two-row inner race is made spherical, with center on axis of antifriction bearing, or conical. Idle end face of taper roller is made concave spherical. Width of support bead of inner race and/or width of middle bead of two-row inner race is found by formula.
EFFECT: increased service life of antifriction bearing owing to optimization of its parameters.
