FIELD: pipeline engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises moving the sucking branch pipe along the pipeline, sampling the gas-air mixture near the surface, measuring the concentration of at least one of the components transported in the pipeline, and exciting acoustical oscillation in the ground directed toward the pipeline. The acoustical wave guide is mounted at a distance of 4(S)1/2 where S is the area of the cross section of the sucking branch pipe.
EFFECT: expanded functional capabilities.
