FIELD: automobile building, aircraft and space technique, and mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method involves compressing heterogeneous system placed within enclosed volume, with heterogeneous system consisting of porous substance and liquid which does not adhere to said porous substance, by applying impact action satisfying the following inequality: p>pcr, where p is pressure buildup rate as a result of applying predetermined impact action upon heterogeneous system; pcr is critical pressure buildup rate determined as pcr=pc/τ, where pc is pressure at which percolation transition occurs, τ is time of filling cluster with non-adhering liquid, with size equal to size of granules, of accessible pores of porous substance.
EFFECT: enhanced energy absorption and dissipation of energy by impact load absorbing equipment.
