FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laboratory studies of properties of liquids and physical processes in liquid-droplet media for studying laws of motion of a bidisperse cloud of droplets. Method involves formation of two horizontal layers of drops when liquid is supplied from two closed cylindrical chambers, through two sets of capillaries of different diameter, which are uniformly placed on lower covers of the chambers. Overpressure is slowly increased in each of the chambers to values ensuring the specified time of droplet formation during liquid flow through the capillaries, and overpressure in the chambers is zeroed to form droplets stably hanging on the ends of the capillaries. For simultaneous detachment of drops of each layer from capillaries, pressure pulses are created in the chambers, wherein the pressure pulse in the chamber with larger diameter capillaries is generated with a time delay relative to the pressure pulse in the chamber with smaller diameter capillaries.
EFFECT: obtaining a bidisperse cloud of drops consisting of coarse and fine fractions, each of which contains drops of the same specified size.
