FIELD: nondestructive testing.

SUBSTANCE: ionizing radiation converter comprises spectrum-mixing members made of belts and layer of powder luminescent solid applied on the surface of the belt or introduced in the composition. The belt is coated with a light-reflecting shell whose refractivity is less that the refractivity of the belt material for transporting light to the end of the belt due to the total internal reflection of light. The converter additionally has optical fiber for transporting light to the photodetecting device.

EFFECT: enhanced spatial resolution and expanded functional capabilities.
