FIELD: textile industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves varying intensity of action of scutching drums by using conical portion of drum and successively providing single-side and double-side scutching process when yarn enters scutching field; shifting free end of yarn from conical portion of scutching drum, when said end is hanging lower than surface of scutching field, by means of shield toward one of said drums for providing scutching mode including single-side scutching, which is substituted by double-side scutching process as diameter of drum conical portion increases.
EFFECT: increased efficiency by eliminating chaotic movement of free end of yarn.
