FIELD: transport engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: according to invention, proposed internal combustion engine contains cylinders with combustion chambers, pistons and connecting rods connected by connecting rod pins into connecting rod pairs. Cylinders are arranged opposite to each other. Pistons in cylinders are rigidly connected into pairs by connecting link on which two connecting rod pins are arranged as sliders. Connecting link is provided with projections which can thrust against one of two connecting rod pins. Energy of moving pistons is transmitted through connecting link and two connecting rod pins to two coaxially arranged cranks by means of two connecting rod pairs. For this purpose each connecting rod in connecting rod pair is fitted by big end onto one of two coaxially arranged cranks rotating opposite to each other. Flanges of cranks are provided with conical gear rims getting into meshing with conical gear of power takeoff shaft.
EFFECT: increased power output of engine and reduction of its overall dimensions and mass.
