FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises fitting a reference weight on the rotor at a given distance from the axis of rotation, setting the machine tool in rotation, measuring moment components of unbalance (centrifugal inertia moments), plotting the results of the measurements, plotting the straight line of variation of moment unbalance along the rotor. The point of intersection of the straight line with the longitudinal axis of the rotor is assumed to be the longitudinal position of the center of mass of the rotor. The value obtained is compared with the required value, and the rotor is balanced along the longitudinal axis.
EFFECT: simplified method.
