METHOD FOR REMOVING CLEFT PALATE AT APPLYING ONE OF THE LINGULAE AND INTEROVERLAPPING MUCOSAL FRAGMENTS Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B17/24 

FIELD: medicine, oral surgery.

SUBSTANCE: one should dissect mucosa along the edges of cleft palate from the top towards the border of hard palate and then up to the bottom of lingulae from both sides. One should fulfill Langenbeck's incisions which should guided behind alveolar maxillary processes in posterior departments, exfoliate mucoso-periosteal fragments from hard palate at isolating and keeping vascular-nervous bundles, separate the muscles of soft palate from the sites of pathological fixation to be mobilized from nasal mucosa which should be exfoliated from hard palate, fulfill incisions of nasal mucosa along the bottom of lingual from every side towards posterior palatine arch up to the level of the border of the bottom from lingula's opposite side, dissect a triangular part of nasal mucosa from more valuable side, and from the opposite side - analogous part of oral mucosa together with lingual and the part of muscle, suture nasal mucosa, moreover, the fragment from less valuable side should be put into the defect of nasal mucosa formed from the opposite side, the bottom of lingual should applied according to the place to be fixed with sutures; muscles should be sutured, one should apply sutures onto oral mucosa. The innovation enables to create anatomically correct shape of soft palate and improve the mobility of soft palate and speech, as well.
