SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely maxillofacial surgery, and can be used to eliminate congenital cleft of the soft palate. A shortened fragment of the soft palate is determined visually and by palpation. A wide mobilization of the nasal mucosa of the soft palate is carried out up to the palatine arches. Scissors are inserted from the side of the cleft edge under the base of the tongues at an angle of 20-40° to the edge of the cleft of the soft palate. Incisions are made towards the lateral edges of the bases of both uvulas. The uvula is cut off on a shortened fragment of the soft palate and the nasal mucosa is sutured, starting from the medial edges under the base of the uvulas and further to the lateral edges of the uvula base.
EFFECT: provides the formation of the palate of the correct shape with an increase in the functional results of the speech function due to the achieved lengthening of the distal part of the soft palate and narrowing of the palatopharyngeal ring by the width of the uvula base.
