FIELD: environmental protection; methods of purification of the underground waters from iron and manganese.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to purification of the underground waters from iron and manganese. The method is intended for purification of the underground waters used for drinking water supply from iron and manganese at their joint presence at conditions of the low temperatures, the low values of alkalinity and the water hardness. The method provides for ozonization and the serial two-stage filtration through the granular loading. At that feeding of the water onto the screens of the both stages is exercised top-down. In front of the first stage screens the water is injected with the free air in the amount proportional to the concentration in it of the iron ions. After the underground water passing through the first stage screens exercise they decrease the contents of the aggressive gases dissolved in the water and conduct its treatment with the ozone in the amount proportional to the manganese ions concentration in it. It is preferential that before the source water enters the first stage screens to introduce in it together with the free air the ozone in the amount indispensable for limitation of the increase of the biomass on the filtering loading. The method presented by the invention ensures the decrease of the capital and operational expenditures at the expense of increase of the speed of the filtration and duration of the filtration cycle, the decreased batch of the ozone used for treatment of the water, and also provision of stability of the water.

EFFECT: the invention ensures the decreased capital and operational expenditures due to the increased speed of filtration and duration of the filtration cycle, the decreased batch of the ozone used for treatment of the water, provision of stability of the water.
