FIELD: testing engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device comprises ultrasonic converter provided with the emitter of ultrasonic signal and ultrasonic converter provided with the pickup of ultrasonic signal. One of the ultrasonic converters is mounted on the base for permitting change of the distance between the testing zones along the generatrix of the pipe surface. The ultrasonic converters are mounted for permitting divergence of the acoustical axes of the ultrasonic signal within the conicity of the thread. The ultrasonic converters are secured to the movable base provided with the magnetic wheels mounted on the rotating levers for permitting locking their mutual position with respect to the pipe. The ultrasonic converters are provided with the mechanism for changing the direction of the acoustical axis of the ultrasonic signal with respect to the surface of the pipe and chamber filled with immersion fluid and spring-loaded toward the pipe surface.
