FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves obtaining DNA from acute pancreatitis patient blood sample and carrying out patient genotype determination from polymerase chain reaction data. SPINK1, GSTM1, GSTT1, PRSS1 and CFTR gene mutations are studied. Heterozygotic mutations being detected in SPINK1, PRSS1 and CFTR genes, destructive idiopathic pancreatitis form occurrence is predicted. Two or more mutated genes combination taken from the set of SPINK1, GSTM1, GSTT1, PRSS1 and CFTR in heterozygotic carriers, or N348 mutation of SPINK1 gene in homozygotic carriers in combination with heterozygotic R122H mutation of PRSS1 gene being detected, severe pancreatic necrosis formation is predicted.

EFFECT: high accuracy of prognosis; detected high risk group; reduced or eliminated lethal outcome occurrence.
