FIELD: oil pollution elimination.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides sorbing material for removing polluting petroleum derivatives. Material is composed of two layers both made of polypropylene fibers. First layer, which is laid on an oil pollution spot, is made from fibers having diameters not larger than 15 μm and oriented perpendicularly to material surface with density between 0.02 and 0.07 g/cm2. Second layer is made from fibers having diameters not larger than 20 μm and oriented along material surface with density more than that of the first layer but not exceeding 0.25 g/cm2. Thickness of the second layer is at least twice as large as that of the first layer.
EFFECT: material is able of quickly and in a large amounts absorbing spilt petroleum derivatives and well retaining them in its volume.
