FIELD: ecology; oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of sorbent for oil and oil product gathering. Method involves impregnation of canvas from basalt fibres with water-repellent fluid and subsequent drying. Basalt fibres are represented by fibres with 0.2-2 mcm diameter and density of not more than 20-25 kg/m3. Before impregnation canvas is preliminarily fluffed with compressed air to density of 12-15 kg/m3. Impregnation is performed by introducing water-repellent liquid in the form of aerosol particles into preliminarily fluffed basalt fibres by means of compressed air. Subsequent drying of impregnated canvas is carried out with compressed air, mainly at temperature of 65-75 °C. Volume of water-repellent fluid is selected based on required value of finished material density.
EFFECT: improved absorption properties of material.
