SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sheet transporting device with sheet guide and at least one gripping device with at least two spaced grips and sheet guide surface determined by sheet guide. Said sheet guide is provided with cavities in sheet guide surface on separate sections passing in parallel to direction of transportation for at least partial fitting of grips so that sheet guide surface described by sheet guide in direction of transportation on at least separate sections passes at the same level as trajectory of movement of front edge of sheet secured in grip. Sheet guide surface of sheet guide in direction of transportation continuously approaches trajectory of movement of front edge of sheet clamped in grips, and grips are arranged so that depth of their fitting in cavities increases in direction of transportation.
EFFECT: provision of placing front edge of sheet in plane parallel position on sheet guide surface.
