FIELD: mechanical engineering; compressors.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compressor building and operation, particularly to surge control and protection. According to proposed method of measuring distance from working point of turbocompressor to surge line, including plotting of surface line and working point in coordinates invariant to changes of parameters of working medium at turbocompressor input, determined angular coefficient of rays drawn from beginning of coordinates to working point and to corresponding point on surge line whose ordinate of working point, distance from working point to surge line is determined as ratio of angular coefficient of ray drawn from beginning of coordinates to point on surge line whose ordinate is equal to ordinate of working point, to angular coefficient of ray drawn from beginning of coordinates to working point, and definite ratio is used as regulated parameters of surge controller.

EFFECT: improved efficiency and reliability of surge control.
