FIELD: triple-electrode electron guns; material treatment, primarily in vacuum.
SUBSTANCE: proposed electron-gun beam power control device has filamentary cathode, gun cathode, and anode; first voltage is applied between filamentary cathode and gun cathode and second voltage, between gun cathode and anode. Filamentary cathode current is maintained constant by means of first closed control circuit so that filament temperature is sufficient to provide for maximal power of gun cathode. Second closed control circuit that has gun cathode power control acted upon by potential difference between instant power of gun cathode and its rated power functions to regulate voltage between filamentary cathode and gun cathode.
EFFECT: enhanced speed of electron gun beam power variation.
