FIELD: machine engineering, possibly manufacture of tools of hard alloy in circular grinding machines.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of pulling round rod of hard alloy through clamping chuck of article stock and clamping rod; grinding on freely protruding end portion of round rod at least one seat for rest and then mounting rest. Reliable support of end portion allows grind first end cone on end of round rod turned to tail spindle of tailstock. Then first end cone of round rod is mounted in inner center of tail spindle of tailstock and by circular grinding forming desired final contour of end portion of round rod. In order to perform such grinding operations, grinding stock having at least one grinding spindle is used. Said grinding stock is made with possibility of mounting near round rod one or several grinding wheels. After forming final contour of end portion of round rod, said portion is gripped by means of gripping unit, cut off by means of grinding wheel from round rod and removed out of machine.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and efficiency of grinding tool of hard alloy due to grinding round rod during single gripping operation at elimination of its radial beatings.
