FIELD: machine engineering, possibly processes for grinding convex working surfaces and outer surfaces of shaft like blanks.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of performing first and second operations of grinding blank by means of first and second grinding wheels for one operation of mounting blank; in order to grind shaft-like blank having large-diameter disc-shaped portion, performing first operation for grinding first convex working surface of disc-shaped portion of blank by means of grinding wheel having at least one concave lateral surface and second operation for grinding desired outer-diameter zone of disc-shaped and other portions of blank. Grinding operations are realized in grinding machine tool having grinding stock with two arms. Each arm is provided with grinding spindle having grinding wheel in its end. Lines normal relative to lengthwise axes of grinding spindles and laid in the same plane cross one another by inclination angle on rotation axis of both arms of grinding stock. One grinding wheel has at least one concave lateral surface. Tail spindle of stock is mounted with possibility of axial motion by means of hydraulic drive unit. Machine tool has rests for support portions of shaft blank.
EFFECT: possibility of working parts at high accuracy of their geometry and size due to elimination of summed irregularities caused by secondary mounting operation.
