FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used for circular grinding of long thin round rods by single-pass grinding. Round rod is locked at headstock chuck to spin about central axis. Said round rod is drawn along stationary spinning grinding wheel. Support is used that stays in stable lengthwise position relative to grinding wheel. Said support can independently approach and self-centre its cams that permanently abut on round rod area subjected already to single-pass grinding.
EFFECT: high precision of grinding.
