FREE-WHEEL MECHANISM FOR ROLLER-TRACK TYPE WHEEL Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A63C17/14 

FIELD: sportive equipment, in particular, free-wheel mechanisms used in roller skates and other individual sportive transportation means for movement on hard-surface roads.

SUBSTANCE: free-wheel mechanism for roller-track type wheel comprises internally toothed ratchet gear combining its function with roller-track type wheel hub. Free-wheel mechanism is put onto two bearings resting upon shaft fixed against rotation and bearing catch pivotally secured thereon. Shaft has supporting surface for limiting rotation of catch. Catch is connected through pivotal tie-rod with two friction disks positioned for movement on bushings fixed on shaft, or immediately onto shaft, and pressed by the action of two springs positioned therebetween to two friction disks fixed within wheel hub.

EFFECT: simplified construction, increased workability, location within roller-track type wheel, noiseless operation at high speeds, low resistance from friction force during free-wheel motion and regardless of vibrations of roller-track wheel due to irregularities on road surface.
