FIELD: road building, particularly safety arrangements for slowing, redirecting or stopping errant vehicles, for instance safety barricade built at road flanks.
SUBSTANCE: barricade comprises shock absorber arranged at initial barricade bar supported by posts. The shock absorber may move along bar under the action of head-on vehicle collision. Shock-absorber head is made as hollow body including shock panel, base and upper surface, which diverge from tail member. The hollow body also has two side walls inclined one to another to provide longitudinal section gradually narrowing from tail member to shock panel. Slot is created between one side wall and shock panel. Bent side wall end passes through the slot to create opening for outlet beam end insertion between side walls. Curvilinear guiding means is fixedly secured to bent end of the second side wall. The guiding means is installed to provide lesser bend radius of lower end of barricade beam leaving shock absorber under the impact force action in comparison with that of free end of the second rear wall.
EFFECT: increased energy absorption, possibility to provide upward spiral movement of barricade bar separated from shock absorber.
