FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: rope energy absorbing barrier can be used to equip dangerous sections of roads, in places where a vehicle can exit from the side of the road, across the dividing line, collisions with massive obstacles and structures located on the side of the road and in the right of way, as well as for equipping sections of roads with a long descent. Rope energy absorbing barrier consists of racks located at a given distance, through the openings of which steel cables run, the ends of which, divorced by a guide device, are connected by means of a clamping device with mandrel absorbing modules consisting of a tubular working element and a mandrel. In the event of a vehicle hitting a barrier, its kinetic energy is spent on the work of lateral stretching of tubular working elements (mandreling), and is also dissipated due to friction in the mandrel pair and friction when moving the ropes in the racks of the barrier.
EFFECT: increased safety in the collision of a vehicle with rope barriers and an increase in the holding capacity of the rope energy absorbing barrier.
