FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for synthesis of acetamide derivatives, namely, to synthesis of diphenylmethylsulfinylacetamide of the formula (I) eliciting narcoleptic activity and to synthesis of intermediate compound diphenylmethylthioacetamide of the formula (II) Method for synthesis of compound of the formula (II) involves interaction of preliminary prepared acetamidothiosulfoacid sodium salt with diphenylmethanol in formic acid medium. Hydrogen peroxide is added to synthesize compound of the formula (I). Acetamidothiosulfoacid sodium salt can be prepared, for example, by interaction of chloroacetamide with sodium thiosulfate. Proposed method provides decreasing period in carrying out the technological process and to simplify the process based on excluding inert gas atmosphere.
EFFECT: improved method of synthesis.
