FIELD: fire-fighting method and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: according to first version, method involves providing movement of powder mixture flow up to upper boundary of volume to be protected while keeping parameters thereof; reversing direction of motion of flow and moving it from the top to the bottom at velocity exceeding velocity of heat flux generated by fire loading. According to second version, method involves providing movement of gas-powder mixture flow along boundary of extended channel volume to be protected in accordance with natural movement of air flows. Powder fire extinguishing module has casing containing fire-extinguishing powder, gas generator with solid fuel charge, powder aeration means, and gas-powder mixture flow delimiting means. According to the invention, solid fuel charge burning front is directed from the bottom to the top. Solid fuel charge is made in the form of sequentially arranged channel-free explosive condensed substance cartridges separated from one another by means of flexible layers, each equipped with central opening. Powder aeration means serving simultaneously as gas generator casing is made in the form of cylindrical shell provided with apertures uniformly arranged in rows on its side surface through its height within module casing, and blind upper part provided with peripheral perforations. Shell apertures are closed with members to be broken. In lower part, shell is closed with cover rigidly joined thereto and equipped with axially aligned initiator. Gas-powder mixture flow delimiting means is formed as hollow cylindrical nozzle placed within module casing in axially aligned relation thereto and secured with its cover. Cylindrical nozzle is provided with membrane closing its end oriented toward gas-powder mixture flow discharge side and with captive nut biased to said end by means of washer. Gas generator is detachably fixed within throat of module casing bottom so that its axis of symmetry is extending in parallel with axis of symmetry of gas-powder mixture flow delimiting means.
EFFECT: wider operational capabilities, wider range of usages owing to providing useful movement of gas-powder mixture flow and due to providing optimized parameters of mixture spray and unobstructed flowing thereof into object to be protected.
