FIELD: production of articles from mineral fibers.
SUBSTANCE: properties of mineral fibers containing silicon, calcium, magnesium, iron, aluminum and oxygen atoms are enhanced due to heating under conditions of oxidation, thus causing migration of MgO and forming outer layer whose thickness is lesser than 1 mcm at increased concentration of Mg atoms by at least 1.5 times as compared with concentration of Mg in the entire fiber. Felt cloths and other fibrous products possess high resistance to shrinkage and casing.
EFFECT: enhanced resistance to shrinkage and caking.
