FIELD: the invention refers to measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: the device has a foundation, a weighting mechanism, holders of samples with parallel supporting planes installed opposite to each other with possibility of approaching , one of which interacts with the weighting mechanism, an arrangement for measuring of an applied moment. An arbor with fixed in it a spherical indenter is located between the holders of samples. The turning mechanism of the indenter is fulfilled in the shape of an arbor, one end of which is connected through a reduction gear with an engine, and on its other end installed in the bearing of a vertical post there is a cam contacting with spring-loaded rollers. The samples installed in the holders through electric isolation with possibility of travel are strengthened with springs against the limiters installed on the plate through electric isolation washers. The holders with samples has a mechanism of creation of backward-rotary motion in the shape of an electric engine and two pinions one of which contacts through an isolation washer with the lower holder. At that the magnetic contour has a regulated air clearance.

EFFECT: defines molecular component of a friction coefficient.
