FIELD: medicine, pediatrics, cardiology.
SUBSTANCE: it is necessary to detect the level of magnesium in blood serum, the degree of thoracic funnel-shaped deformation, affected processes of repolarization upon an electrocardiogram to calculate the following regression equation for teenagers with bronchial asthma: Y=1.95+0.24×TFD(0,1,2)+0.09×APR(0,1)-0.02×Mg, where Y - the diameter of pulmonary artery trunk; TFD - thoracic funnel-shaped deformation (0 - no TFD, 1 - TFD I degree, 2 - TFD II degree); APR - affected processes of repolarization (0 - no repolarization disorders, 1 - the presence of repolarization disorders upon an electrocardiogram); Mg - magnesium level, mM/l. At Y>2.3 one should predict the dilation of pulmonary artery trunk, and at Y<2.3 - the absence of this dilation.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of prediction.
