FIELD: polymerization processes and catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to creation of polar media-resistant high-activity catalysts allowing production of linear, high-crystallinity, high- and ultrahigh-molecular weight polyethylenes. Catalyst according to invention is binary bridged bis(phenoxy-imine) titanium complex of general formula: , in which R1 is cumyl or isobornyl and R is methyl or cumyl. Preparation of catalyst consists in reaction of diimine ligand with a transition metal compound, said diimine ligand being prepared from following components: 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane and methyl-or cumyl-derivatives of 3-cumyl- or 3-isobornylsalycilic aldehyde, and said transition metal compound being, in particular, titanium diisopropoxytitanium dichloride: TiCl2(OPr)2. Polymerization of ethylene is effected in hydrocarbon solvent in presence of above-defined catalyst at ethylene pressure 0.1-0.8 MPa and 30-80°C, using, for example, methylalumoxane as cocatalyst. Melting point of produced polyethylene is at least 141-143°C.
EFFECT: enabled production of linear polyethylenes with high- and ultrahigh-molecular weight and elevated melting point owing to use of high-activity homogenous catalysts.
