FIELD: product marking technologies, possible use for protecting products from forgery and copying.

SUBSTANCE: the method includes producing a visually discernible graphical image containing letters and digits in form of a set of punctual recesses, which are produced by impact insertion of a tool into product surface. A part of punctual recesses has increased depth compared to remaining part of punctual recesses. Impacts against product surface for realization of punctual recesses, which determine graphical image containing letters and digits, are performed successively, one strike after another, using a needle of automatic impact machine having programmable controls. Force of program-controlled machine needle impact is set separately for each punctual recess in such a way, that depth difference between individual punctual recesses is not noticeable without usage of optical means influencing resolution of human eye, but may be found with use of such means.

EFFECT: ensured production of marking with increased product protection degree due to ensured inaccessibility of information about concealed marking to outside observer, increased trustworthiness of product authenticity confirmation, increased productivity when applying the marking in case of mass production of products.
