FIELD: electric transportation, possible use for controlling speed of a train.

SUBSTANCE: in the method for regulating speed, serially with each traction motor or group of serially coupled traction motors, impulse transformer is coupled and transformer filling coefficient is increased up to value equal to one. Armature current of traction motors is measured, traction motor momentum value is determined. For new value of field weakening coefficient, value of armature current is determined, value of traction motor excitation current after bridging is computed. By multiplying resulting armature current by new value of field weakening coefficient, on basis of excitation current value and motor magnetization curve, value of its magnetic flow is determined. Motor rotation speed value ω is introduced, motor EMF value is computed, new value of impulse transformer filling coefficient is computed using an appropriate formula. Excitation windings of traction motors are bridged with resistors and control impulses are injected into impulse transformers, providing new value of filling coefficient of impulse transformers.

EFFECT: reduced traction force thrusts and reduced mass-dimensional characteristics of regulating equipment of electric locomotive.
