FIELD: electric transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and devices designed for starting and control of speed of electric trains. According to proposed method, difference between preset and mean values of motor armature currents are found. Then said difference is introduced into fill factor regulator of pulse converter, and voltage across motor is changed in proportion to value of fill factor. At shunting speed of electric locomotive, conversion frequency is reduced to f1, for instance, to 100Hz. At operating speeds conversion frequency is restored to nominal value f2, for instance, to 600 Hz. When changing from conversion frequency f1 to frequency f2, duration t2 of new conducting state of converter is calculated as t2(f1/f2)t1 where t1 is time of conducting state of converter at operation with frequency f1. Pulse converter for implementing the method contains series-connected LC filter, semiconductor transistor control element, smoothing reactor, traction motor and motor field winding shunted by back diode. Control input of control element is connected with microprocessor control unit.
EFFECT: provision of movement of electric locomotive at shunting without shocks of traction force and without dangerous actions onto signals of automatic block system and provision of electromagnetic compatibility.
