FIELD: gyroscopic devices, possible use in navigation complexes.
SUBSTANCE: method for testing reaction of electrostatic gyroscope to impact effects, including mounting of gyroscope on impact stand, weighing and accelerating the rotor, damping its notational oscillations, causing impact influence on gyroscope, observation of notational oscillations of rotor during and after the impact influence. Acceleration of the rotor is performed up to rotation frequency which is 10-20 times below nominal, where if the amplitude of notational oscillations during the impact and after the impact remains unchanged compared to original one, a conclusion is drawn that the gyroscope resisted the impact effect.
EFFECT: realization of tests, at which determined simultaneously is mechanical strength of gyroscope structure and overload capacity of tracking system of rotor suspension.
