FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for production of spherical rotors of electrostatic gyroscopes (ESG). Method comprises forming two hemispheres with variable wall thickness, the value of which for each hemisphere smoothly increases from pole to plane of separation, connecting hemispheres to each other by diffusion welding, spherical rotor balancing and balancing, the outer surface of the rotor is made in the form of an ellipsoid of revolution elongated along the dynamic axis, characterized by the value of the amplitude of the second harmonic matched with the nominal frequency of the rotor rotation. Two-stage aspherisation is performed: an intermediate value of the amplitude of the second harmonic is set, then the final value of the second harmonic is determined. Then the rotor shape is corrected by finishing in the four-spindle device until the difference is not more than 10%.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of ESG.
