FIELD: manufacture and operation of electrostatic ball gyros. SUBSTANCE: vacuum is formed in case of gyro. Rotor is weighed in field of electrostatic suspension. Torque of rotor is formed, rotor is accelerated to operational rotational speed. System damping angular vibration of rotor is switched on. Angular vibrations of rotor are damped. Information on angular position of rotation axis of rotor relative to case is picked off. Damping system is switched off and rotor is weighed in electrostatic field of suspension after damping system is switched on and torque of rotor which value is found from relation Mtr<Mmf is formed, where Mtr is torque of rotor, Mmf is moment of forces of dry friction between rests and rotor of gyro. EFFECT: reduced time of readiness of electrostatic ball gyro. 1 dwg
