SUBSTANCE: method for selecting a cell by user equipment (UE) may be used to receive a multimedia broadcast/multi-address transmission service (MBMS) in mobile communication system, which supports MBMS service with different distributions of frequency (FA) in one area. In the method, radio network controller (RNC) transmits information about MBMS cell to UE, and information about MBMS cell includes MBMS shift for guaranteeing priority for repeated selection of MBMS cell. UE performs repeated selection of cell by means of information about MBMS cell and receives MBMS service from repeatedly selected cell.
EFFECT: possible capability of UE, positioned in a cell which is inaccessible for packet transmission service, to receive packet transmission service in mobile communication system.
