METHOD FOR CULTIVATION OF VEGETABLE CROPS IN OPEN GROUND USING DITCH IRRIGATION Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A01B79/00

Abstract RU 2316922 C1

FIELD: agriculture, in particular, cultivation of vegetables in open ground using ditch irrigation.

SUBSTANCE: method involves forming soil rolls and cutting vertical slits in each soil roll, from its upper edge to hard subsurface layer of soil; forming irrigation ditches between wide soil rolls, each soil roll having ridge and process path extending along ridge; cutting narrow vertical slit in ridge part of wide soil roll, from upper edge of roll to hard subsurface layer of soil; forming wide slit between process path and ridge, with depth of said slit making 1/3-1/2 the depth of irrigation ditch; planting seedlings after filling of narrow slit with irrigation water to the level of ridge, said planting being provided in single line or strip; during seedling rooting period, providing irrigation in wide slits between process path and ridge; during flowering and fruit-setting periods, providing irrigation in irrigation ditches between wide soil roll; performing caring and yield harvesting procedures along process path; feeding irrigation water into irrigation ditches from ditch formed along one of wide soil rolls.

EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing saving consumption of irrigation water and increased quality of vegetable crop yield.
