FIELD: pisciculture, crab catching trade.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation refers to detecting the filling the crabs' limbs with muscular tissue for scientific and technological objectives. The method suggested deals with obtaining a cross section due to cutting or sawing the merus (large joint) of the crab's middle leg at equal distance against its ends. Then one should measure the height and the width of the obtained cross sections of muscular tissue and the cavity of the crab's merus carapace at accuracy up to mm to detect the filling of crab's legs with muscular tissue being a percentage portion of the product of the length and the width of carapace's cavity. The innovation enables to simplify the detection at sufficient significance.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of detection.
