FIELD: process for antimicrobial treatment of liquids.
SUBSTANCE: method involves providing action upon liquid in flow within electrode-to-electrode space without substantial heating thereof, said action including series of nanosecond high-voltage pulses of duration less than 20 ms, with intensity amplitude of electric field of at least 6*106 W/m. Apparatus has high-voltage pulse source, liquid pumping system including treatment chamber, system for feeding and discharging of liquid under treatment process. Treatment chamber is formed as coaxial system of electrodes: outer electrode (casing) and inner electrode, said electrodes being separated by isolator.
EFFECT: reduced microbiological contamination, prolonged storage time of food liquids such as milk, high organoleptical properties, biological value of liquid product, and minimized consumption of power for treatment process.
